Overwhelm is a signal that we've passed our capacity. It prompts us to pause, triage, seek help, or reduce inputs so that we can protect energy and focus on what matters most.
Good Ideas
  • Do a 2-minute slow-breath reset
  • List everything, pick 3 priorities
  • Cut, delegate, or delay non-essentials
  • Timebox actions to 10–15 minutes
  • Ask someone for one concrete help
  • Move big decisions to another day
  • Set worries/ideas aside for later
Bad Ideas
  • Try to do everything at once
  • Say yes to everything by default
  • Isolate or refuse help from others
  • Skip food, water, or sleep to catch up
  • Numb out with TV/endless scrolling
  • Seek perfection on low-impact tasks
  • Use caffeine to push past limits
