Imposter Syndrome

Self-Conscious
Feeling like a Fraud //Self-Doubt

We feel imposter syndrome when we don't believe we deserve our success, or that we'll be exposed as a fraud.

Imposter Syndrome
Feeling like a Fraud //Self-Doubt
Imposter syndrome often starts when we reflect on a recent failure or success. When our inner search for validation doesn't reach a satisfying conclusion, we can spiral into doubt and other strong emotions.
Good Ideas
  • Accept what part you had in success
  • Don't talk bad about yourself
  • Get perspective from others you trust who are outside the situation
  • Expect to make mistakes when you start new experiences
  • Focus on helping others
Bad Ideas
  • Attribute all your successes to luck
  • Attribute failures to your own actions
  • See all new opportunities you get as new opportunities to fail
  • Over-prepare for every little thing so that it's impossible to fail
  • Focus only on your shortcomings
