Conflict
Outraged //Incensed //Righteous Anger

We feel indignant when we believe something is unjust, unfair, or morally wrong, and we feel entitled to protest it.

Outraged //Incensed //Righteous Anger
Indignation can be personal, but is often triggered when we see wrongs done to others. It pushes us to speak up and work to correct the wrongs we see in a group setting.
Good Ideas
  • Name the specific value that was violated and who was harmed
  • Is my reaction proportionate?
  • Take concrete action, don't just vent
  • Separate the issue from the person
  • Share calmly with someone you trust
  • Define what a fair outcome looks like
Bad Ideas
  • Assume that your view is the only valid, moral option
  • Use cruelty to "make things right"
  • Recruit others as an angry mob
  • Perform outrage for social status
  • Hold onto it as a permanent identity
  • Ignore your own role in the situation
